Bold!! Predictions!!!
Romney is wiped out in the South! The reasoning to follow in about three or four hours when I have more time. If my reasoning changes in that time I will delete this post.

Reasoning not quite yet, diatribe first.
Read a thread responding to an article critical of those who would not, no never, support a man like McCain. There is a common nature to those who despise McCain, they are very righteous, and oh so offended.
I didn't see one post where this was a position taken by anyone who would have preferred Giuliani, or Huck, and I didn't see one of that position whose first choice was Fred. It's just the Romney types: pure as the driven snow, intelligent beyond mere mortal understanding, heroic, courageous, independent. This last is very important. Independent thinkers all! They have deeply studied, cogitated, and in marvelous (and pleasing) perfection of soul and mind have come to the only moral position possible: screw McCain.
And they have all gathered around the one man perfect, the Romney, a one term liberal governor of Massachusetts. There must be some reason all these extraordinary people have all seen the same bright light. I imagine it's that they all listen to the same radio station.
One must admit, such a herd of the courageous is indeed a force to be reckoned with... as long as their radio doesn't go dead. If that happened they'd have to ask their plumber how to vote.
In fact though, their radios won't go dead and they won't have to fix their toilet to get their politics. To such as they understanding comes from "out of the air" so to speak. It is always thus with the finest inspiration. Unfortunately, there are some who have some question about those voices they hear. I would be careful of such voices. It's always dangerous to be led by a nut.

Okay, a little of my reasoning. I read statements like this all the time:
This is nuts. There are no votes from Huckabee to go to Romney because Romney is not supported by social conservatives he's supported by people who hate McCain; that is, people who listen to talk radio. Huck doesn't like talk radio any more than McCain, and neither do his supporters. Huck takes from McCain, not Romney. That Romney is viewed positively, on issues, is a fantasy of far right nut radio, simply because to justify their derangement syndrome toward McCain they have to pretend Romney stands for something. And anybody who listens to talk radio listens everyday and their minds are already made up and there aren't any more votes out there that Romney can pick up.
He can lose votes, and this is why he's going to wipe out in the South. The campaign has an air of inevitability about it now: it seems, not certain but most plausible, that McCain is going to win. When things seem tending toward the inevitable but not there quite yet, voters want to make their vote count. They'll vote for the two top guys. There are two top guys in the South, McCain and Huck. Romney is third tier and a wasted vote. The only people who will vote for a loser at this stage are message voters, and the only message Romney voters have is hatred. How many people are going to go out just to express hatred by voting for a suit who's going to get wiped out? Some, but man that's got to be an exhausting life.
I predict that in the states of the South Romney does considerably worse than he shows in the polls now. A lot of his supporters won't bother to vote, and a lot of them, soon, may just get sick of the screed spewed toward them each day and vote in defiance of the twits of talk. But I don't know if that means they go for Huck or if they go for McCain.

Notes:
--BDS: Bush Derangement Syndrome; rage at Bush expressed by those who feel he has a power that rightfully should be theirs.
--MDS: McCain Derangement Syndrome; rage at McCain because he threatens a power they feel should be theirs.
--HDS: Huck Derangement Syndrome; less, but ditto. Besides, he's a Christian and doesn't get his Gospel from talk radio.
--Mark Levin: the only guy who can write with a whine that sounds like Jimmy Carter saying "malaise".
